SpongeBob Bails on Panhandle

by Mister SF on 01/18/2010

Dateline: Panhandle, Fell Street and Mason Avenue, where SpongeBob SquarePants has had enough.

SpongeBob became a tourist attraction three years ago, after the cartoon character first appeared in the window of this Victorian flat overlooking the Panhandle.

After numerous acts of vadalism, neighbors report SpongeBob has returned to his TV home, a pineapple on the bottom of the ocean.

San Franciscans are alternately outraged by and deeply attached to its mannequin, doll, and other pretend residents that sometimes remain perched for many years.

Young and old SpongeBob fans may still enjoy the SpongeBob SquarePants 4D Experience TurboRide at Pier 39.

Six Degrees of SpongeBob: Mister SF was in “Bewitched: The Play” in San Francisco with Sirena Irwin, the voice of Lady Fish!
