Mister SF’s Roadshow: Prisoner of Melbourne

Jentah Sobott is Heather “Mouse” Trapp, a young drug addict who rose from the ranks of Wentworth after Sobott’s creativity as a silent background inmate caught the eye of friend and costar Sheila Florance and the producers. She completely physicalizes the role of Mouse. Throughout Prisoner’s long run, it is easy to figure out that many of the background actors have created more complete characters than the nothingness of the roles might suggest.

Jentah Sobott as Mouse, one of Jeff’s favorite characters. She does her best impersonation of a lighted match in Episode 326. Part of the magic of Prisoner is that a background character could rise to prominence in the cast, just as the show’s biggest stars could be killed off in the blink of an eye, and often are.
