Mister SF’s Roadshow: Prisoner of Melbourne

Anne Lucas is Faye Quinn. She followed Margot Gaffney as the prison bookie. After being squeezed by the Freak for most of her take, Quinn finds life on the outside no more rewarding and soon ends up back inside after stealing video equipment from an employer.

Lucas was part of the writing team before turning to the other side of the lens when she says the cast needed a new prison bookie when Jane Clifton was committed to stand-up gigs.

Lucas told us the bricks inside Wentworth were really more like wooden tiles, each hand-painted and painstakingly laid along the labyrinthine set inside Channel 10. The cast unanimously discounted the myth that the Prisoner set had wobbly walls ala Dark Shadows. “They were the walls of Channel 10,” says Lucas.

Anne Lucas as Faye Quinn. The character has some strong scenes in a storyline involving the nephew who is really Quinn’s son.
