Prisoner: Cell Block H is available on DVD in its entirety – all 692 episodes. The DVD box – 172 discs on 40 volumes – includes a comprehensive book and a few DVD extras. Released in 2007 by Freemantle, the set is Region-0 (region-free) PAL format. In the U.S., the discs play on all Apple computers in addition to Phillips brand DVD players and others. Release in NTSC format is unlikely at this writing. However, there are earlier, 25th anniversary NTSC DVD releases by A&E which include a dozen episodes each on two volumes. While easier to obtain, they are, like YouTube clips, ultimately unsatisfying for such an addictive series. The individual volumes that comprise the complete series box set are usually available on eBay.
