Jim Lazarus attempts to manage his Great Dane, Elsie, while stumping for City Attorney at this month's "Critical Mutt" rally at City Hall. His efforts were met with only mixed results. "She's very happy to see me," Jim explained. Canine obedience may be good practice if perennial candidate Lazarus, a former chief of staff for Mayor Dianne Feinstein, is ever to return to City Hall, where never was heard the expression, "No bad dogs."  - Hank Donat
