San Francisco in Cinema: Crazy Like a Fox
Harrison Fox Sr. and Jr. were a father-and-son detective team in the light-weight CBS series Crazy Like a Fox from 1984-1986. Fox Jr. (John Rubenstein) was a prominent San Francisco attorney. Dad (Jack Warden) was a private detective whose office window marked "Harrison 'Harry' Fox" was seen at the start of every episode. Though the series run was short, the window on the Flatiron Building (540-548 Market Street) where the intro shot was filmed remained painted with the Fox moniker until 2001. When Mister SF was just a lad, he sold books to Rubenstein who was shopping at a nearby bookstore on a break from filming the series.
