Public Defender Jeff Adachi is at the center of the compelling 2001 documentary
Presumed
Guilty. Filmmakers Pamela Yates and Peter Kinoy garnered unprecedented
access to attorney-client meetings as they observed the efforts of Adachi
and fellow public defenders Phoenix Streets, Michele Forrar, and Will Maas
to fight for defendants otherwise at the mercy of prosecutors and judges.
Profiled clients include Lam Choi, who killed a Chinese gang leader, and
Marcos Ranjel, the hit man in the notorious Pink
Tarantula case.
