Woody Allen attempts
to rob the Columbus Ave. branch of Bank of America in the 1969 comedy Take
the Money and Run. Documentary style feature details the life of hapless
petty criminal Virgil Starkwell (Allen) whose failures include a stint
as a cello player in a marching band, a botched prison escape using a gun
carved out of soap, and an indecipherable holdup note. One of Allen's funniest.
