SF Patient’s Co-Op

originally posted 2/28/09: Dateline: Haight, 350 Divisadero Street, where Mister SF visits the remains of the SF Patient’s Co-Op, which closed about a year ago after the landlord of the marijuana dispensary received a letter from the DEA threatening the landlord with incarceration and seizure of the property. The Co-Op opened in 1999. The closure of the Co-Op in 2008, which was also a meeting place for AA and other groups, represented the ongoing struggle of marijuana providers despite the passage of Proposition 215, which legalized medical pot in 1996.
