Mister SF’s Roadshow: Prisoner of Melbourne
Barnhurst Prison: Page [1] [2]

Barnhurst Prison is the back of the Abbotsford Convent.

Barnhurst: then and now.

Though its presence is known earlier, we first see country prison Barnhurst when Bea Smith is transferred there in Episode 197.

This is vinegar country. Vera Bennett was promoted to Governor of Barnhurst when Fiona Spence left Prisoner in Episode 224. Since, like fellow original cast member Val Lehman, Spence declined to reprise her role, Vera remains governor there and is mentioned throughout the show’s entire run.

The exterior staircase that Lehman descended as Bea has been removed, leaving a mystery door.

Top Dog Tip: When visiting the Abbotsford Convent Arts Precinct, don’t forget to have a snack and organic soda at the Convent Bakery.

How many women are there at barnhurst?. It’s good to finally see barnhurst after all the references made about the place.
