Colleen Powell checks into the Burvale Hotel, corner of Springvale Road and Burwood Highway, Nunawading, after leaving Partrick for his lack of ambition in Episode 343. How we got there: From Flinders Street Station, take either the Lilydale or Belgrave train to Nunawading Station. Exit the station on Springvale Road. The Burvale is 4km south at Burwood highway, so hike, cab or take a bus. Global Studios/Channel 10, the Wentworth Detention Centre, is located about 3km into the journey.
The hotel is cast to type as a pit stop for the lost and lonely.
After settling into Room 17 and changing into nautical-inspired fashions, Colleen makes a death march from her room to the restaurant to dine alone, or so she thinks.
Reception: The Hazchem Inn.
Remodeled for the addition of a casino and enlarged bistro, Colleen’s hell hole is nonetheless instantly recognizable. Nothing else seems to have changed here except, one hopes, the sheets.
