"Attention Chien Bizarre" |
The Filbert
Steps are a good example of how tourists often get one over
on us San Franciscans. While some disdain and others mock them, tourists
are free to visit the beautiful Filbert Steps surrounded only by the indescribable
charm and character of the gardens that flank this stairway on Telegraph
Hill. They do this without being crowded by locals who don't always know
how good we have it and don't visit this serene and beautiful place as
often as we might. The entire enclave here near Coit Tower and on down
the steps to Napier Lane then Sansome Street is a shinning example of the
natural and quiet beauty of the City.
