The six blocks
between Valencia and Castro that make up Liberty
Street have it all in the character department: beautiful
archecture,
great views, and a charming
complex of stairway walks. This historic
district is one of the City's best-preserved Victorian neighborhoods. Italianate,
Stick-Eastlake and Queen Anne buildings were erected here from 1860-1890
and were saved from the 1906 fire by a landmark
fire
hydrant on Church Street at 20th.
