High on a Hill: Lombard Street
When tourists refer to Lombard Street, what they really mean is Lombard between Hyde and Leavenworth. That's the much photographed block known as "Crookedest Street," and sometimes billed as the crookedest street in the world. Actually, it might not even be the crookedest street in San Francisco. Still, a visit to the whimsical, winding block of Lombard Street provides amazing views and is just as fun the thousandth time as it is the first. To see the real crookedest street in the City, visit Vermont St. in Potrero Hill.
