Even an expert on San Francisco's beautiful public spaces has to keep his or her eyes
open for Mini Parks. Often unnamed except
colloquially and even more often located in unexpected places, mini parks
can be comprised of just a few hundred square feet of City property. One
such mini park is located on Russian Hill,
Hyde Street between Green and Vallejo. Surrounded by trees, the series
of concrete walks leads to a serene landing with sunny exposure and glimpses
of adjacent quintessential San Francisco inner lots and service porches.
The smart design of the ramps makes the park non-user friendly for skateboarders
in spite of the presence of a pair of slides for small children.
