Notorious SF: Clifford Bolden

The former Pendulum (4146 18th Street) was on its way to becoming the 18th Street Bar in May, 2007.

At the dawn of 2003, Clifford Bolden was the only San Franciscan on San Quentin's death row. Bolden was condemned to die for the murder of 46 year-old Michael Henry Pedersen, an unemployed accountant. On Sept. 9, 1986 Bolden stabbed Pedersen fatally in the chest and back then robbed him and left him for dead in the bathtub of Pedersen's Corbett Avenue apartment. Pedersen had picked up Bolden, then 31, at the Pendulum bar at 18th and Collingwood earlier on the day of the murder.
