Monday, September
5, 2005. San Franciscan Bob Pritikin
invited renowned crooner Eddie Fisher to entertain friends
at Pritikin's annual Labor Day celebration. For those too young to remember,
imagine Brad Pitt cuckolding Jennifer Aniston for Angelina Jolie in the
1950s. Fisher left his wife Debbie Reynolds for Elizabeth Taylor in what
one of the greatest celebrity scandals of that decade. "Elizabeth
couldn't make it today," said Fisher onstage at Pritikin's Chenery
House. Former Supervisor Tony Hall and chanteuse Denise Perrier performed
"Miss Otis Regrets" with Pritikin on the piano and saw. Fisher performed
"Oh, My Papa," his biggest hit, but it was Perrier who moved
the crowd with a lilting version of "Do You Know What it Means to
Miss Orleans."
