The San Franciscans: Tom Sweeney
Tom Sweeney is full of light. The lead doorman at the Sir Francis Drake hotel on Powell Street, Sweeney is among the first handful of San Franciscans many visitors meet. With his love of the City, vibrant personality, and sincere interest in folks, he is more than a model of good will and service. Sweeney is an eternal San Franciscan. Someone once asked Mister SF "Why's this guy so famous?" Because he likes his job! Sweeney, who's been at his post for more than 25 years, has shaken hands with five U.S. presidents and is sometimes photographed hundreds of times a day.
