First Look! Castro Readies for its Close-up Biopic
of slain gay leader Harvey Milk underway in SF neighborhood.  It's back to the past for 575 Castro Street, scene of a revolution.  575 Castro Street, days before its Hollywood makeover.  The Castro Theatre is just that once more, at last no longer the "C tro," thanks to attention from filmmakers.  Accuracy is everything. Today they're green of course.  Toad Hall returns for Milk starring Sean Penn and directed by Gus Van Zant.  It's not your Daddy's Castro; oh wait, yes, it is.   C tro no more. (December 6, 2007.) |
