March 28, 2004, Miz Brown's remains: As popular as ever. |
The original
Miz Brown's location was the final stronghold
of what became a small chain of great spots for unpretentious grub. Opened
in 1953,
the burger and breakfast joint in the Laurel Village shopping plaza closed
so unexpectedly that the Bay Guardian wrote, "Miz Brown's remains
as popular as ever," in
its 50's History Edition the same week patrons
were greeted with Miz Brown's farewell message.
