Williams-Sonoma
is the Bay Area company that put gourmet cookware in the hands of the
everyperson. On Tuesday, April 8, 2008, company founder Chuck
Williams and members of his committee previewed a plaque that will
mark the location of San Francisco's first Williams-Sonoma store. (Find
it at 580 Sutter Street, immediately left of the Hotel Rex.) The company's
current flagship store is a few blocks away at 350
Post Street in the old Bullock & Jones.
